Ravinia Nursery School was founded in 1926 by Peggy Reiser who welcomed
12 children into her home in the neighborhood of Ravinia. As enrollment grew,
classrooms were rented in the public schools in what was then Highland Park
school district #108. In 1958 under the leadership of its Director,
Rosalie Weinfeld and the Board of Directors, funds were raised to
build "the little blue school" on Red Oak Lane. In 1991 a multi-purpose
room was added and in 1998 the playground was redone and brought up to code.
In 2001 after celebrating its 75th anniversary, Ravinia Nursery School underwent
an extensive interior renovation which was completed in the fall of 2002.
In 2006, Ravinia Nursery School celebrated its 80th anniversary of educating
children in the highest standards of excellence.
