Stacey Merel

It seems Stacy always knew she wanted to be involved with children and has been for many years.  After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Kansas University she continued on and received her Master’s in Elementary Education from National Louis University.  Stacy taught elementary age children for the next seven years in the Chicago Public Schools.  Then two young children and a move to Highland Park brought her to substituting in the Highland Park District for the past several years.  Three years ago when her younger daughter attended RNS she became familiar with our school and now is beginning her third year on staff as the D class Assistant Teacher.  We are very happy that her journey has led her to working in our school.

Stacy is originally from Northbrook but now lives in Highland Park with her husband and two daughters who both attend Sherwood School.  She likes being with young children because not only is it fun but she feels she is always learning something new from them.  Stacy loves children’s honesty, creativity and endless energy.  She finds helping children to learn is very rewarding.  She is very excited to be a part of RNS and looking forward to another amazing year. In addition to spending time with her family and friends Stacy also likes reading, traveling and being outdoors.
